How To Properly Fit Cowboy Boots

Cowboy boots fitting

Cowboy boots are a stylish and versatile footwear option that can be worn for both formal and casual occasions. However, in order for your boots to look and feel their best, it's important to ensure that they fit properly. Here are some tips for getting the perfect fit when buying cowboy boots:

  1. Measure your feet: Before you start shopping, measure your feet to get an idea of what size you need. It's best to do this at the end of the day when your feet are at their largest. Keep in mind that different brands and styles may run differently, so it's always a good idea to try on multiple sizes.

  2. Try them on: Don't just rely on the size listed on the boot. It's important to try on the boots to ensure a proper fit. When trying on boots, wear the socks or hosiery that you plan to wear with them.

  3. Check for snugness: A proper fitting cowboy boot should be snug around the heel and ankle, but not so tight that it's uncomfortable. You should be able to wiggle your toes, but the boot should not slip up and down while you walk. At first, its normal to have approximately a quarter to a half inch of heel slip.

  4. Check the width: Make sure the boot is not too tight around the widest part of your foot. Your foot should be able to move comfortably without feeling cramped. Keep in mind that at firs, the boots will feel snug. Once broken in, the boots will feel better.

  5. Check the toe box: The toe box should be roomy enough to allow your toes to move freely, but not so roomy that your foot slides around inside the boot.

  6. Break them in: Leather boots will usually need to be broken in before they feel comfortable. This can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending on the boot and how often you wear them. Be patient and don't give up on a pair of boots just because they're uncomfortable at first.

  7. Proper maintenance: Proper maintenance will ensure your cowboy boots last for a long time. Clean and condition your boots regularly to keep the leather in good condition.

By following these tips, you'll be sure to find a pair of cowboy boots that fit comfortably and look great. Happy shopping!
